Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, Named a Top 100 Hospital For Women’s Health Programs

Becker's Hospital Review has named Mercy Medical Center to its list, "100 Hospitals With Great Women's Health Programs" for 2013. These hospitals offer outstanding women's health programs, such as gynecology, obstetrics, reproductive medicine and other women's health needs. Hospitals were selected based on clinical excellence, quality care and women's health awards.

The hospitals have been recognized for excellence in women's health by several organizations, including U.S. News & World Report, Healthgrades, UNICEF's Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative and CareChex.

According to the Becker’s Hospital Review, “Mercy Medical Center (Baltimore) admitted 16,584 patients and saw 65,763 emergency room visits in 2012. It offers care in a number of specialties including oncology, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology, geriatrics, gynecology, nephrology, neurosurgery and orthopedics. It also features The Weinberg Center for Women's Health & Medicine at Mercy, which includes a breast center, a gynecology and gynecologic oncology center, a heart center and women's imaging services.

The center for women's health includes an orthopedic program geared toward women that provides treatments for ACL tears, arthritis and osteoporosis. It has been designated a Magnet facility by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.”
